What vaporizer has the ability to satiate multiple purposes?

My fiance appears to have respiratory issues when it comes to being around excessive amounts of smoke, whether it's tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke, incense or a combination. After several minutes of extreme coughing and horrid retching nothing comes up but mucus. My first thought was to invest in a vaporizer for the purposes of using oils that could help with his breathing and also, if desired, used to intake THC without the actual presence of smoke. Thus, eliminating two issues at once. Is it possible to own a vaporizer that has such dual purposes? Or would we need to invest in separate vaporizers - one for the oils, the other for reefer? I have yet to experience using a vaporizer for either so I'm a little clueless when it comes to such. I've done a little research and am not sure whether the actual purpose of the vaporizer [taking in THC] is disguised by the purpose of diffusing oils into the air. =/ Help?
