What is diffusion and what is it called when water is the substance being diffused?
Diffusion is when a substance moves from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration. When water is the substance being diffused AND THE DIFFUSION OCCURS THROUGH A MEMBRANE, then that is called osmosis. If there is no membrane it's only the diffusion of water.
