Does my lice treatment work?

ok. i got lice (don't ask me how) and my mother called the doctor, got the medicine, and put it on my head. it is supposed to kill all of it but i woke up the next day with nits and 3 bugs on my head. how did this happen if it says it kills all of it. she is a hairstylist so Yes she did this right.
